a5c7b9f00b Thieves attempt a massive heist against the U.S. Treasurya Category 5 hurricane approaches one of its Mint facilities. How would you try to steal $600,000,000 from a federal facility? You would put together a team of sophisticated hackers and insiders, then wait patiently for years for the perfect storm to hit. It has to be a perfect storm, because then there will not be any way to communicate or get support from the outside world, and the eye of the hurricane will oblige you by travelling down a highwayyou drive with it to provide the perfect cover.

The Hurricane Heist is something less than the sum of its parts. It's part Convoy, part Twister, part Raiders of the Lost Ark, part The Killing, part The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, and part Friday Night Lights. Despite it not adding up to its potential, given that pedigree, it is the best hurricane heist movie of the year so far.

We see that Alabamans like guns, but there are unlikely heroes who do not need guns, suchWill (Tobey Kebbell) who is part meteorologist, part Indiana Jones, and all about science warning us that someday soon, due to global warming, we will see Category 6 and Category 7 hurricanes, with ultimately billions of dollars to steal. Kebbell is showing a great deal of range in his acting chops, one day playing a meteorologist, yet while another day playing Victor Doom (Dr. Victor Von Doom).

Stuff gets blown up real good and blown away real far. Can't give this more than an eight because it is what it is, a B movie. If you like awesomely bad then you'll enjoy it. I know it isn't a comedy but I was laughing from the first line on. Snakes on a Plane has always been my favorite well made B movie but this one is up there. Bad accents, bad science, cars blowing around in the wind while the people next to them stand up straight….. it has a little bit of everything. If you can't laugh at those bad things you will probably hate it, I didn't take my wife for a reason. A workmanlike cross between a disaster movie and a caper-chase flick…the film never rises to the promise of its awesomely literal title.
